The Opposite of Supreme

October 21, 2018

obfuscation and tirade rewarded
the populace hand-fed an FBI
investigation that went nowhere
as intended
for the woman
once and now again brutalized

is there any other word for it
the public stoning

as it has been
year upon year
century upon century

for those who believe
the most comprehensive review
of a Supreme Court nominee in history
who believe boffing is a drinking game
who believe anything they want to believe
anything they want you to believe

who laugh because she didn’t cry

ask yourself
who would now dare to speak out
or ever again

my country tears of thee
