Santa as a Young Viking

December 24, 2017

My mother was a Viking, my father a Dane.
My aunt was a stitch, my uncle a thane.

My province lies north of tomorrow.
The bone-white landscape simulating peace.

Once I built an imaginarium.
And the Magi still come.

I’ll give you a tip. Review your stocks.
I’m going to need a lot of coal this year.

And don’t be asking for silver or gold,
titles or deeds, awards or absolution.

I bring only belief. Belief in love
and its veil of covalence.

I live with some elves now.
We make toys for fun, out of resolution.
